The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe is in progress now as we work through the second volume, The Claw of the Conciliator. Here's what you need to know:

  • We are using the 1994 "Shadow & Claw" and "Sword & Citadel" edition of the work.

  • We will read 1-2 chapters per episode (so 1-2 chapters per week).

  • We will be doing a "minimal spoilers" reading of the book (you can't guarantee no spoilers with an author like Wolfe), so it should be pretty safe to read along your first time with us.

  • We plan on doing all four books in the Book of the New Sun in order, followed by The Urth of the New Sun. We will probably take over a year to complete this read from start to finish.
